F-6 has wheels

I was able to get the gear on and finish the decals. Still need to weather and add the seat and canopy. Hopefully will have the plane done before this week end.

Sad news

It has been a little crazy this past week. My Grandfather Jimmy Hudson passed away on Tuesday. He was 83. He was a great man, I sure will miss him. Always had a joke and never let anyone pull the wool over his eyes.

I am also awaiting my son's birth. He is due on the 12th. Can't wait to meet him.

Since these two things have been going on I have been busy.

Here is what I did get to work on never the less.

I was able to get the camouflage painted on the second F-6A along with the start of decaling. I have found that by using 25 PSI on my Iwata Eclipse Airbrush I can create perfect line work and do not have the issue of a spitting airbrush. This is great news for me since I have been struggling with the airbrush spitting off and on in the past due to to low of an air pressure.

I discovered the pressure fix when I painted Kim's belly for our churches Retro Party on Saturday. Hope you enjoy.

latest news

This week I received decals from Stefan Ericsson for the S.M. 79. I have to say an extra thank you since he sent them all the way from Sweden to help me with my next build.

Just got the most recent Air Modeller. This is one of the best if not the best modeling magazine out there.
The article on the Fw-190 was one of the best I have seen on washes and filtering techniques.

Busy weekend

I have been busy this week, but finally got to be able to work on some modeling this weekend.

This is the soon to be British F-6A. I have been working on finishing the American one as well as a P-40. My goal is to have it finished by the 19th of February.

This is photos of preshading on the P-40. I used RML 66 to achieve this look.

This is another photo with the canopy painted the interior color first. Theen I will go over it with olive drab.

This is what it looks like with the olive drab and a coat of future. I just finished decaling the main markings. I plan on applying the remaining decals tomorrow hopefully. I am aiming to have this finished by the end of the month.

He is another close up of the F-6 I have finished the propeller and the installation of the canopy in an open position. This build so far as been a first for me in many ways. I have removed the flaps and scratched built them in a downward position. I have repositioned the ICM pilot into a new position to depict a conversation with someone on the ground.

P-40 Cockpit

Tonight I tackled the cockpit for the P-40.

I also ran into a problem when I spilled over the Thin Viscosity Super Glue. It ran like water onto my drop cloth on the carpet which is made from plastic luckily and I almost adhesive my hand together catching the bottle. Note to self, keep bottle further from self. Over all, all is good. The clean up did not take long, but I did get to use my new file to help remove the glue.

Till next time.
